being regulated by the International Federation of Gymnastics, it is divided
into six disciplines, despite the fact that only three of these are Olympic:
artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics and trampoline gymnastics.
This sport aims to develop the flexibility and strength of the human body.
These two
qualities are, together with dexterity, the essential conditions of the
effectiveness of our movements, of the availability of our body, both in
ordinary life and in sports.
These
qualities specifically for the non-athlete's satisfactory "fitness".
Moreover to its regular cultivation, it depends on the satisfactory functioning
of the joints and muscles, since it is the best way to combat hardening or
atrophy and detention for as long as possible in good physical condition.
For our
athletes, flexibility and strength, developed and cared for, allow superior
physical performance and constant improvement of the achievements of which the
human being is capable.
